Lauder's Festive Quiz
Today is the last day at work before we break of for two weeks over the festive period. In the afternoon there is the annual quiz in the canteen. The prize for the five member teams is £100. Relationships may be the source of complication now as the needs of others conflict with your own simpler wants and desires. You could be more willing than usual to go along with your partner’s wishes, but quietly holding onto unexpressed annoyances or resentments will not fare well for you in the long run. Better to talk it out than to bury your feelings.

Men's Rules:- read carefully girls.
List taken from [LJ:scimon] - blame him!
We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note ... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!
1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Birthdays, Valentines, and Anniversaries are not quests to see if we can find the perfect present yet again!

If things feel a bit unstable now, they probably are. If you feel like you are treading water and nothing is changing, that’s probably true, too. Life is full of contradictions. Rely on your inner strength to hold to your chosen path, even if you are less sure of yourself than usual. Weight all options, but try to put off making a final decision.

Trilogy: Part, The Third
Just got home from seeing Return of the King. It is Good. Not going to say too much. Don't want to give any inadvertent spoilers. That and I'd like some time to digest it before really talking about it.

The Encyclopedia of ARDA
Just found this during a random search for a reference to a background character mentioned in the credits for The Return of the King, Damrod: The Encyclopedia of ARDA.

Lord of the Rings, by PG Wodehouse
"Sam, I've decided to go and overthrow the Dark Lord by tossing his jewellery into a volcano."
"Very good, sir. Should I lay out your crazy adventure garb? I presume that this will pose a delay to tea-time. I would remind your Hobbitship that your Great Aunt Lobellia Sackville-Baggins is expected for tea."
"Blast! I say, bother! How can a chap overthrow the Dark Lord? I suppose I will have to delay my campaign."
"Very good, sir. I believe you will be free in about a decade."
"I'll do it then. Make a note, Sam."
